Youths in Homa Bay county support dialogue

A section of youths in Homa Bay county have come out to support Azimio leader Raila Odinga in his calls for Kenyans to embrace dialogue.

The youths argued that Raila understands the priorities of Kenyans and cannot allow the country to go in the wrong direction.

The youths led by John Ogemba, Jasper Onyango and Joseph Aloo said they support the stand Raila and President William Ruto took to fully implement the National Dialogue Committee (Nadco) report.

Ogemba said the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) meeting that saw President Ruto sign the electoral body’s Amendment Bill to pave way for recruitment of new commissioners was a good start for addressing what the Gen Zs were demanding.

“The meeting between Raila and President Ruto at KICC should not be misconstrued with a handshake.  It was all about how Kenya can be transformed,” Ogemba said.

Addressing the press in Homa Bay town Friday, the youths urged Kenyans to give dialogue a chance.

They argued that the Nadco report addresses most issues including job creation and other reforms the youths have been agitating for.

Onyango claimed that Raila understands problems that have been bedeviling the country and cannot mislead the people.

Oloo also reiterated that the high cost of living and lack of jobs among the youths will be solved if Nadco is implemented.

ODM party youth leader Robert Ouko said they fully support Raila and the decision he took to join President Ruto at KICC.

“Dialogue is key for any country that wants to have economic development,” Ouko said.
