A youth who abducted a Chuka Girls’ High School student has been charged with defilement and performing an indecent act with a minor in a Chuka Court.
Peter Munene Murithi was presented before Chuka Senior Resident Magistrate (SRM), Mwanamkuu Sudi on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to the two offences.
The court heard that Muriithi had lured the school girl to his residence on April 4 ,2019 where he held her captive until Friday, April 12, 2019 when he was cornered by detectives after a tip off from members of the public that a school girl had been seen entering his house.
The prosecution further disclosed that the accused was arrested in Chuka town and on taking the detectives to his residence; they found the school girl locked up inside.
Muriithi was granted a cash bail of Sh.50, 000 or a bond of Sh.100, 000 with a surety of a similar amount.
The case will be mentioned on April 29, 2019.
