Kakamega governor’s spouse, Priscilla Oparanya has called on the youth to take up leadership roles in the society.
Mrs. Oparanya advised the young generation to actively get involved in the decision making processes to ensure a smooth transition from the aging workforce to them.
She spoke on Wednesday at the County Referral Hospital, while presiding over the donation of computers to various vulnerable children support institutions, organized by the Programme for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), an international non-profit organization.
Her office has partnered with PATH in a bid to improve the living standards of the less privileged in the county.
She called on the various groups to share experiences, so as to learn from one another in order to improve services at their support centres.
“I am appealing to parents and caretakers to speak openly about HIV and AIDS and other related ailments, so that the young people are sensitized about the killer disease at an early age,” she observed.
