World Vision has donated assorted medical equipment to Homa Bay County government to enhance the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in the region.
The equipment which includes 2000 facemasks, 400 gloves, 10 Lab set sprayers, 33 Bin liners and eight thermometers were handed over to Rachuonyo North Sub County medical Officer of Health Dr. Britton Odundo to assist the medics in the fight against Covid-19.
Speaking while handing over the equipment to the hospital management on Friday, Project Officer Charles Komole said that some of the equipment will be distributed to Homa Bay County referral, Suba South and Rachuonyo north Sub Counties respectively.
Komole added that his organisation is targeting people in the rural set up where accessing medical care is still a big challenge.
Rachuonyo North Sub County MOH, Dr.Odundo applauded the organisation for the donations and assured them that the equipment will be used for the intended purpose.
Dr. Odundo also revealed that the issue of face masks is still a challenge to both the medics and patients accessing medical care at the rural health facilities.
