A 24-year-old woman on on Thursday stabbed her 25 year old husband to death following a domestic row
Neighbours told the press that the two, who had a young baby, spent the better part of the night quarreling before the woman, identified as Mercy Njeri, picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the man.
The full identity of the man neighbours referred to as Kevin, could not be established as we went to press before the police were called in to restore order after irate members of the public threatened to lynch the suspect on learn8ing of the incident..
Police who arrived at the scene at Gorofani Estate, Pipeline area were unable to access the scene of the crime as hundreds of area residents surrounded the house baying for the woman’s blood.
According to the caretaker of the building where the murder took place, Boniface Kariuki, the woman went into shock after she realised the gravity of her actions.
He said that the woman stabbed the man on the chest once.
The body of the deceased and the suspect are still holed up in the house as police try to disperse the angry crowd.
