Woman Rep condemns Azimio demonstrations

Kisii Woman Representative Doris Donya Aburi has condemned the ongoing Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance demonstrations saying they were derailing development in the country.

The Woman Rep instead urged Raila Odinga to explore other means of resolving the current impasse between the coalition and Kenya Kwanza led government.

Speaking when presiding over distribution of foodstuffs and clothes donated by Donya Charity Mission to needy families at Ititi village in Kitutu Chache South, Ms Aburi claimed the demos which are planned for Mondays and Thursdays had relegated the country back to election campaign mood.

She cited hindrance of school activities and normal economic business
activities for fear of violence.

The Woman Rep also condemned the killing of a Maseno University student last week among other deaths being reported around the country after the demonstrations turned awry and deemed the incident unwarranted.

Ms Aburi also commended county residents for snubbing the protests and urged them to maintain peace and concentrate on development matters.

Also present during the event was area MP Antony Kibagendi and National Government Affirmative Action Fund chairperson, Moraa Kerochi.
