Equity Group Foundation has donated personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the West Pokot County government for the second time in a move aimed at fighting Covid-19.
County Executive Committee (CEC) member for health and sanitation Ms Christine Apokoreng lauded the Foundation for the supplies saying it is a very kind gesture especially during the pandemic times.
“I really appreciate the support we have been getting from Equity Group led by CEO Dr. James Mwangi because you have been supporting us with face masks and sanitizers,” she noted.
She told KNA that the partnership was unique, while attributing the low numbers of Covid-19 positive cases to the support of PPEs.
She said Equity has been the first organization to have worked with since the pandemic struck the country and the PPEs have really helped health workers to continue providing effective service delivery.
Apokoreng assured that the county government will continue implementing the recommended health protocols as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
“I applaud you as our heroes since you came with assistance when we needed you most. Positive currently stands at 290 since the first case was announced in the country,” she mentioned.
At the moment, the number of positive cases has remained constant and we are working to ensure that the public is constantly sensitized so that they continue observing the government protocols, she added.
