The Cabinet Secretary for Education (CS), Prof. George Magoha on Wednesday warned students against examinations cheating, saying that should anyone dare then they will face dire consequences.
Magoha said that the government is aware of mechanism that students use for cheating in exams and said that there will be no mercy on such candidates.
“If anybody attempts to cheat this time, we will arrest them,” Magoha said, adding that the government has already finished preparations for the Standard Eight and Form Four students.
The CS further asserted on the safety and security of the examinations, adding that no one will know the content therein till the morning of each day of exams.
He was however, optimistic that there will be no massive corruption in this year’s exams compared to the previous years, further saying that he will make a tour on institutions that cheated last year for further verification.
Prof. Magoha spoke while opening the Nairobi County Education Quality Dialogue for the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). He was categorical that his ministry will implement the CBC because it is the best way to go for the country.
He joined other dignitaries in paying tribute to the late Kibra Member of Parliament, Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer last week noting that Okoth offered infrastructural support to schools in Kibra.
