Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has hailed Erdemann Properties Limited for its rapid construction of high-quality housing units to meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the country.
Erdemann Properties was founded in 2003, based in Nairobi, and specializes in property development, where it provides decent low-cost shelter to Kenyans by employing the latest technology to the art of building construction and delivering quality and affordable housing to clients
Speaking during a groundbreaking ceremony of Great Wall Gardens Phase 6 in Athiriver Sub County, where she thanked them for making Machakos a preferred destination for housing and other infrastructure.
Wavinya said the county government plans to negotiate with housing sector investors to incorporate basic amenities like market sheds and public toilets, thus ensuring order in urban centers.
The governor commended Erdemann and other investors for their contributions to job creation for the local young people, thus fostering societal transformation.
However, Wavinya stressed that county investors must obtain approval from the department of lands, housing, and Urban Development before commencing any development in the county.
She said investors have been urged to promote the local economy by utilizing the available raw materials for construction such as sand, stone, and gravel from within Machakos.
Erdemann Properties Managing Director Zeyun Yang said that once the new project is complete, it will bring the total number of units constructed to 10,000 since its inception.
Yang stated that their mission is to provide affordable housing for middle and low-income Kenyan families, ensuring ownership or rental of the houses.
The MD expressed gratitude to the Machakos County government for supporting businesses by fostering a conducive environment conducive to growth.
Yang urged the national and county governments to improve essential services such as roads, water supply, sewage, and electricity.
