A private developer has mitigated the effects of the prolonged dry spell in Ndhiwa Sub County by constructing 10 water pans to salvage rural dwellers from effects of water shortage in the area.
The residents have been suffering from acute water shortage despite the areas’ proximity to Lake Victoria.
The situation has forced a Businessman, Johnson Oduru from Kalamindi village, Kanyadoto Ward to construct the water pans to address perennial water shortage in the region.
He has completed construction of ten water Pans in Kanyadoto, Kwawabwai and Kanyamwa Kosewe wards. The water pans include Kachiew, Kondiek , Dago, Ekwamo, Kaluoch, Koloo, Kochieng’ and Atemo.
Oduru says he is undertaking the water projects to the residents free of charge using his own excavators after he was touched by the plight of the residents.
