The Vihiga County Government is partnering with the German International Cooperation (GIZ) to foster effective governance through citizen participation.
Subsequently, GIZ would be training workers and the residents on corruption risk assessment and the need for citizen involvement in decision making for the realization of good governance.
This was discussed when the GIZ team led by the director for employment and skills development Tom Ansorg, paid a courtesy call on Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo.
Ansorg Said his team would collaborate with the county to digitize public participation so that the Vihiga natives in the diaspora can give views on programmes and initiatives undertaken by the county government.
Dr. Ottichilo said his administration has already collected and analyzed crucial data in the distribution of social amenities using the Geo-Spatial Information System (GIS) which would assist in the establishment of new facilities.
He stated that training the workers on the corruption risk assessment would make them shun the vice and be able to serve the people better.
