Vihiga Governor calls for national dialogue for cohesion, development

Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo has called for a national dialogue to deliberate on the issues that would foster national cohesion and collective socio-economic development.

The governor appealed to the President to convene a national forum, attended by representatives from all interest groups, with a view of coming up with a road map and strategy for steering the country to political stability and economic prosperity.

Dr Ottichilo argued that it is only through concerted efforts that the nation could realise the much desired inclusive socio-economic growth.

He lauded the Head of State for reaching out to other leaders in a bid to promote collaboration   for the common good.

The governor, while addressing the residents during the Jamhuri Day celebration at Chango secondary school grounds in Vihiga Sub County, said his administration would continue striving to ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods and services to the people.

The area Acting County Commissioner (CC) Florence Sitawa, on her part, asked people to uphold law and order during the festive season.

She asked area residents to cooperate with the security agencies by providing timely and reliable information about persons and activities that threaten the state of security in the area.

The administrator stated that the multi-agency team consisting county and national government officers has put in place measures to ensure the adherence to law and order.
