Addressing the public in Hamisi Sub County where he launched construction and expansion of Shaviringa-Kamulembe-Muhudu Road on Wednesday, Governor Wilber Ottichilo said that the exercise would be facilitated by his government and the national government through Hamisi Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The Road connects Shiru and Muhudu wards.
“The construction and expansion of this road is as result of strong partnership between Vihiga County government and Hamisi CDF. This collaboration is meant to ensure that our people don’t suffer any more,” he declared.
Present during the commissioning was Vihiga Deputy Governor Dr. Patrick Saisi who said that once complete, accident cases rampant on the road would be minimised.
Hamisi Legislator Dr. Gimose urged the contractor to make use of local manpower during the construction works to enable residents earn an income.
The partnership deal will see the Vihiga County Government provide machinery whereas Hamisi CDF will provide murram for carpeting of the road.
Others present during the inauguration were Transport County Executive Committee Member Prof. Justus Mwanje, MCAs Nickson Butiya (Shiru), and Calystus Ayodi (Muhudu).
