Vihiga County gets land for Industrial Park

The Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has given out 15 acres to the Vihiga County Government for the setting up of an aggregation and Industrial park.

Speaking while inspecting the site in Luanda Sub-county, KRC Managing Director Philip Mainga gave a green light to the County Administration to kick off the project.

The County Chief Officer (CCO) for Lands, Housing and Urban Planning, Arc. Victor Kivaya, pledged that the contractor will be on site any time, as the tendering process has been concluded.

Arc. Kivaya observed that the industrial park would not only provide a ready market for the farmers’ produce but also create jobs for the locals.

The National Government has allocated Sh. 100 million to each of the 47 counties for the establishment of industrial parks to enable value addition and bring on board more value chain actors.
