Upgrading of Matawa- Indangalasia road in Khwisero on course

Khwisero Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka has promised to continue with the Matawa-Indangalasia road upgrade from May this year as part of the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure in the area.

Aseka said the initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance transportation networks and boost economic activities in the region.

Speaking over the weekend during a church service at Mumias Central SDA, Aseka emphasized that the improved road conditions would support farmers in transporting their produce more efficiently, ultimately strengthening food security.

“We will strive to carry out countywide maintenance of roads to ensure our farmers can transport their goods to market without straining,” he stated.

Additionally, the MP confirmed that road maintenance will also be undertaken in Mjini, Lukoye, and Shibale to improve accessibility and ease the movement of residents and traders.

In a bid to support the agricultural sector, Aseka revealed that the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and seeds will commence next month to help farmers cope with the rising costs of farm inputs.

At the same time, he said water accessibility in the constituency has seen significant improvements and noted that four water projects have been completed in Mundeku, Ebuyonga, Emalindi Girls and Khushiku Market as part of the first phase of a community water initiative.

“We have completed phase one, and phase two is ongoing at Khukolomani under the ‘One Sub-location, One Community Water Project’ initiative,” he stated.

The legislator said phase three of the water project is set to bring clean and reliable water to communities in Bama, Manyulia, Ibinda, Emukhunzulu, Emaholia, and Dudi Township Primary School.

He added that the developments mark a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure and improving the livelihoods of the residents.
