University student in Court for registering for 2018  KCSE

A Maseno University student was on Friday charged  before the Ogembo Law Courts in Gucha sub county for registering to sit for the  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)   while still pursuing university studies.

Davis Ongiri was brought before Senior Resident Magistrate Nafula Makogha but did not take plea because the prosecution requested for 5 days to complete their investigation about the matter.

When the court gave him chance to speak he said, he had registered for 2018 KCSE to better his grade so that he could pursue his dream career which requires higher grades than what he had scored.

The court granted the prosecution’s request through Gucha sub County Senior Prosecution Counsell  Peter Wainaina and ordered that he be remanded at Ogembo police station and be brought to take a plea before the same court on 19th November 2018.
