Uasin Gishu County Government has entered into a one-year contract with Resolution Insurance Company to provide quality health insurance cover for the County employees and their dependents.
The contract was signed between the County represented by the Chief Officer Public Service Management, Anne Koech and Resolution Insurance Company General Manager, James Wanjohi, witnessed by County Attorney, Stephen Lel and Eldoret Resolution Branch Manager Isaac Chumba.
During the signing of the contract the Chief Officer said the arrangement was one of the county’s welfare strategies of ensuring a healthy and productive workforce through the Department of Public Service Management.
The Scheme will see Uasin Gishu County staff alongside their dependents benefit from the medical cover from May 3, 2021 to May 2, 2022 when the contract will elapse.
”We expect quality health provision to our staff as per the contract terms and those outlined in the insurers policy in the selected medical facilities countrywide, the cover will include member education to sensitize the staff on the services offered and facilities where they can access them,” said the Chief Officer.
She urged all staff members to ensure they go for checkups regularly, saying that if any complication is detected early, managing it becomes easy. She further encouraged them to register with NHIF so that they can supplement the medical cover in case of chronic illness.
The County Attorney in his remarks asked the insurer to show relentless commitment in offering their services to employees as agreed in the contract to avoid any complaints.
The General Manager of Resolution Insurance Company, James Wanjohi, assured the County of quality services.
