Uasin Gishu County Industrial Park taking shape

Uasin Gishu County Administration is making remarkable progress in the implementation of the County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) project aimed at promoting agriculture and manufacturing sectors to generate income, create jobs, increase foreign exchange earnings, and reduce poverty.

In a remarkable display of strategic planning and progress, the County is steering the County Aggregation Industrial Park situated at the Agricultural Mechanisation Services (AMS) in Moiben towards realisation, showcasing a transformative vision for the region’s agriculture and trade sectors.

The ongoing construction has achieved key milestones, including the completion of a robust perimeter wall, site excavation, and the establishment of foundation walling.

Additionally, the construction progress on the foundations of warehouses and cold storage facilities highlights the park’s commitment to cutting-edge infrastructure.

Speaking at the construction site after successfully conducting a public participation exercise on the County’s development priority areas in Sergoit Ward, Roads and Public Works Chief Officer Eng. Abraham Kiptalam said he was impressed by the strides made at the facility, which is being constructed by the County in partnership with the National Government.

Kiptalam affirmed that the construction was on track, meeting the anticipated schedule of completion.

“This industrial park is set to be a game-changer for both small and large-scale farmers in Uasin Gishu, and upon its completion, it will provide a centralised platform for farmers to aggregate their produce, facilitating access to local and international markets,” he said.

He noted that the County Aggregation Industrial Park is a testament to the county’s commitment to fostering economic growth and the provision of vital infrastructure to improve the livelihoods of the community in line with the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda of the government.

The government unveiled the programme across all Counties to prioritize consolidation, processing, and value addition of agricultural products.
