Two young men appeared before a Malindi court Monday charged with trafficking in narcotic drugs worth Sh1.5 million.
The duo who appeared before Malindi Chief Magistrate James Mwaniki were Bavon Omondi Musa and Omar Kazungu Kahindi, who denied the charge against them.
They are alleged to have committed the offense together with others not before court last Saturday February 10, 2024 at Masumbuko area of Kilifi South Sub County, Kilifi County.
It is alleged that they were found trafficking in 50 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa (bhang) with a street value of Sh1, 500,000 contrary to the law.
They were arrested on the material day and brought to court on Monday February 12, 2024.
Mr. Mwaniki released them on a bond of Sh500,000 each with sureties of similar amounts, or a cash bail of Sh250,000 each, but by the time of writing the story, they were yet to raise the amounts.
The case will be mentioned on February 20, 2024.
