Police have arrested two women over three missing girls in Rachuonyo East Sub County, Homabay- County.
Police said the two suspects, one a teacher, and another a step mother to the three missing girls are in police custody
Rachuonyo east police commander Justus Kucha confirming the arrest said the two will help with the investigation
The sub county police commander said the area Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer made a phone call to a school in Gilgil in Nakuru County where the children were expected to be learning but they could not be be traced there.
Last week the family of the missing girls had called for help to trace their children who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
The girls all students in St. Thomas Omiro mixed secondary school went missing on the 11th of January, 2025.
According to the parents the girls Linda Chalker , Liza Awour ,Winny Lucky in form four, form three and form two respectively used to leave home sometimes to go for prayers , and although they used to take long, they always came back.
Thomas Ouma Omolo, the father of the girls urged anybody with information about his girls to help.
Mr. Ouma said he has worked hard to bring up the kids who are third, fourth and fifty born in a family of seven
“The girls just left home, at first it was the eldest, the other two followed later,” he said.
The parents however accused one lady teacher now among the suspects arrested to be behind the missing girls saying the girls had been attending church with her.
They said one day the kids went to church, and they have never come back.
Titus Omolo the uncle of the girls said the girls had at one point travelled to Uganda for prayers and he strongly believes the girls could have disappeared to Uganda.
