A motorcyclist and his passenger died on the spot when he rammed into a truck on the Siaya /Nyadorera road.
His second passenger, Tony Ouma sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Siaya county referral hospital where he was rushed to by good Samaritans.
According to eye witnesses, the accident occurred yesterday near Boro market when the motorcycle rammed into a canter truck, registration number KCN 162G.
A witness, Maurice Ouma told Kenya News Agency that the truck that was carrying bread had overtaken the motorcyclist who was carrying two passengers but made an emergency break immediately after overtaking.
Ouma said that both the Canter and the motorcycle were heading towards Siaya town and were speeding when the accident occurred.
Local residents who thronged the accident scene called for more bumps along the road, saying that a lot of lives have been lost since the road was tarmacked.
They said that just a week ago, a pupil at the nearby Boro primary school was knocked and killed on the same spot by a speeding vehicle.
Siaya officer commanding police division, senior superintendent Patrick Konzolo while confirming the incident called on motorists to observe traffic rules.
He said that from the look of things, the motor cyclist failed to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of him and even carried excess passengers.
Both the motorcycle wreckage and the canter were towed to Siaya police station as investigations were launched.
