Two people died on the spot on Monday night after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a grisly accident along the Kajiado-Namanga highway.
The two, who were in a Nissan x-trail vehicle heading towards Namanga town died after their vehicle lost control and rammed into 52-seater passenger bus, heading in the opposite direction.
Kajiado Central Sub-county Police Commander Issa Mohamud confirmed the incident adding that three passengers who were in the bus sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Kajiado Referral Hospital.
Mohamud urged motorists to avoid speeding and exercise extra caution on the road so as to reduce cases of road carnage which has become frequent in the country in the recent weeks.
“The private vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a ditch before it was crushed by the bus, killing its two occupants a man and woman on the spot. I want to urge motorists to be extra careful on the road and avoid speeding” he said
He further called on drivers and passengers to ensure that they wear seat belts as they help save lives.
Both vehicles were towed to Kajiado Police Station while the bodies of the deceased were moved to Kajiado County Referral Hospital.
