The  Turkana County Senator, Prof. Malachy Ekal and the Loima Sub County Criminal Investigation Officer (SCCIO), Davis Ondimo on Monday clashed at the latter’s office when the Senator had gone to the SCCIO office to follow up on a land dispute.

Senator Ekal filed a complaint at Lodwar police station on Monday and on Tuesday morning reported to the county criminal investigation office to record a statement.

Ekal alleged that the police officer drew his pistol and threatened him and ordered him to leave his office. The Senator is alleged to have attacked the DCIO in his office with the crime buster proceeding to hospital for x-rays to process a charge of bodily harm.

However as at Tuesday morning police officers had not addressed the media on the matter because the County Criminal Investigation Officer and County Police Commander were both out of station for a meeting in Nairobi.

At the heart of the dispute is a land ownership dispute between Kapokor family and other residents who are said to have the backing of the Senator.

According to Joseph Emuron Ebei  who is one of the complainants, the 286 hectares of land is at the heart of the conflict.

Ebei  claimed that the land which is being processed  in court belongs to the Kapokor family which comprises of five families.
