Public Service Commission (PSC) Board has appointed Mr. Simon Rotich Acting Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Commission.
PSC Chairman Mr. Stephen Kirogo announced the Board’s decision to replace Dr. Alice Otwala as Secretary/Chief Executive Officer for PSC following her appointment as Commissioner National Police Service Commission.
Prior to the appointment, Mr. Rotich was Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services at the Commission, and was the substantive Deputy to the Secretary/CEO.
Mr. Rotich has a 27 years experience in civil service, having served in various capacities, rising from District Officer, District Commissioner, Assistant Secretary, Under-Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Senior Deputy Secretary and Director of Administration.
He also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) in acting capacity from 2011 to 2012.
Dr. Otwala takes to the National Police Service Commission a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience of 35 years in Public Administration.
At the Public Service Commission, she ascended from an Assistant Secretary to the Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission.
Previously, she served in different government Ministries and departments including Trade, East African Community, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Office of the President and the Public Service Commission.
During her tenure as the Secretary/CEO of the PSC, she led the commission from the old to new constitutional dispensation that gave PSC an expanded mandate.
