More than 30 small scale traders in Homa Bay town benefitted from 200 iron sheets donated by the office of Homa Bay County Woman Representative.
The traders who lost their property in the fire incident which gutted the market on Wednesday evening got the donations to help them construct new structures.
The items were bought with the funds drawn from the office of National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
Speaking to traders in Homa Bay town, County NGAAF chairperson Caroline Owidhi said the donation would help the traders in picking up after the destruction of their property.
“We appeal to well-wishers to help those who were affected by the disaster. Some lost everything they had in their stalls,” she said.
