Three suspected gangsters shot dead along Nairobi-Thika Superhighway 

Three  suspected gangsters were last night gunned down at High Point in Juja by police from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit.

The suspects two men and a woman were being pursued by the detectives from Kenol in Murang’a South where they had shot a motorist and attempted to kidnap 2 children.

According to Juja OCPD, Patrick Manyasi, after the gangsters realized they were being followed made a U turn at Juja Bridge and sped off back to the Thika superhighway.

It is then that the detectives challenged them to stop but instead they opened fire on the officers.

The three who were in a Toyota Belta Saloon car were shot dead while one escaped with gunshot wounds.

A pedestrian was unfortunately caught up in the fire exchange and was rushed to the Thika Level 5 Hospital where he unfortunately later succumbed to the injuries

A pistol and a man-made gun was recovered from the suspects.

The incident caused a major traffic snarl up along the Juja-Thika stretch as members of public gathered at the scene.
