Three pupils killed as lightning strikes School

Three primary school pupils from Mkulima primary school in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County were  killed by lightening following a heavy downpour in the area.

Thirty others were rushed to Kuresoi Health centre with four who were critically injured being transferred to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital.

Governor Lee Kinyanjui has sent a message of condolence to families of the two pupils who died saying that it was unfortunate to lose young children who were full of life.

He said the County had dispatched two ambulances to transfer four pupils who were critically injured to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.

The department of Health has also dispatched a team of clinical officers and nurses to reinforce staff at the Kuresoi Health Centre where 30 others are admitted.

Local chief John Mucharia who spoke to KNA on phone confirmed that at least 23 of the pupils had since been treated and discharged from the Kuresoi health centre.
