Three people died in separate incidents in Kaiti sub county.
In the first incident two men died while digging a well in Mukuyuni village last evening at around 5 pm.
According to the County Police Commander (CPC), Joseph Ole Naipeyan, 35 -year- Stephen Musyoka and another man only identified as Maingi aged 40 years suffocated while digging the 30 feet deep well.
The county commander said the two had been contracted by 60- year- old, Paul Ndambuki to dig the well in his homestead when the incident occurred.
He said the two men had complained of dizziness before they passed out and efforts to rescue them bore no fruits.
‘‘The two had raised an alarm and villagers tried to rescue them by throwing ropes to the well to pull them out but unfortunately they had already passed out and could not hold on the ropes,’’said Ole Naipeyan.
The bodies were taken to Makueni County Referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Elsewhere, a man died after a boda boda that was carrying him collided head on with a saloon car at Kilolo area long the Machakos-Wote road on Sunday night around 7.40 pm.
Police say the man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the referral hospital.
The boda boda rider sustained injuries and is admitted at the same hospital.
The vehicle was headed to Wote from Machakos, while the boda boda was headed in the opposite direction when the accident occurred.
Police have launched investigations into the incident.
The body has been take to the hospital’s mortuary pending investigations.
