Three middle aged men suspected to be gangsters have been shot dead by unknown people at Kogwe Junction along Rongo-Homabay highways in Kanyach Kachar location within Homa -Bay town constituency.
The deceased are said to have been traveling on a motorbike and were being trailed by the assailants in a black salon car from Rongo town in the neighboring Migori County towards Homa-Bay town.
Some of the area residents at the junction where the incident occurred said that they heard gun shots which lasted for a short time before the suspected gangsters were gunned down.
Confirming the incident to KNA, Homa Bay County Police Commander Esther Seroney said that the assailants left the bodies lying on the ground and ran away immediately after killing the trio.
Seroney reiterated that their preliminary investigations revealed that the assailants traveled in a black saloon car when they were pursuing the deceased persons.
She added that the deceased persons had not been identified since there were no documents to establish their identities.
The bodies have been taken to Homa Bay County Hospital mortuary for postmortem as the motorbike on which the deceased were traveling on has been towed to Homa Bay Police Station.
