Three people died on Friday afternoon following a road accident on the Kisumu-Kakamega road.
The accident reportedly happened after a lorry belonging to Coca cola Company lost control while descending the Mamboleo junction flyover.
Eye witnesses told KNA that the truck lost control before ramming into a tuk tuk, killing two of the three occupants.
A woman and her child lost their lives on the spot but the driver of the tuktuk managed to escape with minor injuries.
The lorry that was headed to Kisumu town from Kakamega had knocked down and killed a motorcyclist before ramming into the tuk tuk.
The truck then overturned on the edge of the flyover.
Bodies of the three accident victims were removed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary by police.
Motorists plying the route have time and again raised concerns over the road design of the descending section heading to Mamboleo junction, and pointed out the spot has recorded an increased number of road accidents.
Two days ago another road accident occurred near the same spot at the Coptic church but occupants of the lorry and private vehicle involved in the accident escaped unhurt.
Previously street lights along the highway were destroyed when motorists lost control of their vehicles and smashed lampposts.
