Kilifi County Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Director Dr. Esther Njiru has confirmed the interdiction of three head teachers and two teachers for failing to attend the new Competence Based Curriculum Training held in April this year.
Dr. Njiru said two head teachers are from Kilifi South Sub County with two teachers and one head teacher from Magarini Sub County.
She added that 48 teachers in Kilifi County were given warning letters to show cause why they should not be interdicted following their refusal to attend the training.
Dr. Njiru also said, already the 48 teachers have responded to the letters and were given another chance to go back to school and teach but warned against repeating such mistake.
She explained that the interdicted teachers are not teaching but are at home and will know their fate after a decision is made at the end of the period.
Last week a Labour and Employment Relations Court judge Byrum Ongaya suspended the interdiction of 221 teachers who are facing disciplinary action for failing to attend the new curriculum training until a case filed by the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) is determined.
