Teens of Hope upsets Mungatsi FC in Busia County Odibet League

Teens of Hope upset their loose-leaf form, beating high riding Mungatsi FC 1-0 to register their first win of the season at Nambale AC grounds in the resumed Busia County Odibet League.

Nimrod Sande scored the only goal in the third minute for Teens of hope helping them secure 3 points, the encounter was the only match of group B on Saturday.

It was a big upset for Mungatsi whose winning streak was halted by underdogs. Until their weekend victory, Teens of Hope had lost five matches and drawn one.

Green Canopy consolidated their lead on the log with 14 points when they thrashed Masters 4-2 at Mundika Primary School with David Kisala scoring a hat trick in the 3rd, 9th and 16th minutes. Bernard Omondi netted the fourth goal in the 18th minute.

Edwin Okarkodi scoring a brace in the 36th and 51st minutes helped Ajax FC thrash Busia YC 4-0 at Okame Primary School. Darlington Rasimo(25th) and Ambrose Opedun (own goal) completed the score line for Ajax FC.

In another entertaining encounter, the visiting Butula Eagles had a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dragon FC at Nyakwaka Primary School with Douglas Achola scoring twice in the 3rd and 16th minutes. Elvis Musonga netted the third goal in the 51st minute.

Mabale United held Young Rovers FC to a goalless draw in another match this weekend played at Otimong Primary School. Rovers FC had an upper hand playing at home ground but wasted numerous chances.

In Group ‘A’ encounter at Malaba Stadium, Godfrey Karakacha netted a hat trick in the 11th, 66th and 73rd minutes to lead Boca Junior to a 3-1 victory over Musokoto whose consolation goal was scored by Emmanuel Majune in the 18th minute.

In the Iteso derby Malaba Giants edged FC Amagoro 1-0 in a tension charged match played at Malaba Stadium with Joseph Wanjala scoring the lone goal in the 25th minute.

The Giants suffered a setback when Mohamed Abdi was sent off in the 87th minute for a dangerous attack. On March 21st, Emmanuel Osoro was also sent off for tough play in their match against Kamolo FC which they won 3-1.

Kamolo FC suffered their second defeat in a row, losing 1-0 to Kekalet at their Kamolo Primary School backyard. Gilbert Kajulo netted the lone goal in the 85th minute.

Kakurikit FC registered their second win of the season when they beat Lupida 2-1 at Kakurikit Primary School with Moses Tsefu and Oliver Omakada netting the two goals.
