A 17-year-old teenager was on Saturday crushed to death by a grader graveling a road in Kisulisuli area on the outskirts of Nakuru town after he slipped and fell.
The teenager, only identified as Kiarie died on the spot during the gruesome incident in which his head was crushed to a pulp.
According to eye witnesses, the teenager, who is well known in the vicinity was walking along the road where the earth mover was leveling the road.
He is said to have slipped on the loose murram chippings and was instantly crushed by the grader.
Bondeni Location chief Abdi Noor confirmed the incident saying that the boy died on the spot.
He appealed to area residents to keep off from areas where heavy machinery was at work saying that it was dangerous to walk along the roads where the graders were working.
Chief Noor described the incident as unfortunate and urged the youth to be cautious when walking along the road that is under construction.
Shocked area residents recalled the gruesome incident saying that it was unfortunate to lose the young man in such circumstances.
Police officers who visited the scene took the body to the Nakuru County mortuary for preservation pending burial arrangements by relatives.
