TECNO Mobile has announced Kenyan two-time Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge as the brand ambassador for its upcoming flagship model PHANTOM X2 series.
Speaking at the Global Trade Center (GTC) on Thursday during the launch, TECNO Brand retail Manager Anthony Brian Otieno said PHANTOM is the world’s pioneering brand in terms of technology that takes lead in research and development of the world’s most valuable business products.
“PHANTOM has new flagship species that is differentiated with technological development path. These include its stylish experience, extraordinary experience and innovative technology,” said Otieno.
Otieno added that the partnership with the World’s fastest marathoner, Eliud Kipchoge was informed by its pioneering brand PHANTOM.
Eliud Kipchoge is a Kenyan distance runner who is widely considered the world’s greatest marathoner. Between 2014 and 2019 he won all 10 marathons he entered. Kipchoge holds the world’s marathon record for 2 hours 1minute and 9 seconds.
On his part, Kipchoge said that innovation is the most important part for anybody to become better.
“I am excited to partner with the world’s pioneer in terms of innovation and technology. Being environmental protective, the PHANTOM series devices are made from recyclable materials which makes the partnership valuable and most importantly protecting the next generation,” said Kipchoge adding that he has seen the TECNO Mobile devices on the market for about 10 years.
Media personality Caroline Mutoko said that she was among the first people to experience the device.
“I am lucky to be among the first person’s to enjoy this device. I feel like it soothes my hand,” said Mutoko.
