Molo court Monday granted a 58 year old teacher who defiled and impregnated his pupil a bond of Kshs. 500,000 and a surety of a similar amount.
The accused, David Langat had denied defiling the 13 year old minor on December 29, 2018 and the court was set to give a directive based on a social inquiry report.
Senior resident magistrate, Rhoda Yator granted Langat the bond on condition that he will contact neither the victim nor the witnesses.
The minor who is set to join form one in 2019 is said to have reported the matter to Keringet children office through her guardian who took up the matter leading to Langat’s arrest on January 11, of this year.
The court further directed that Langat be issued with copies of witness statements. Hearing was slated for March 13 of this year.
