Police in Kitale are investigating an incident in which a 25 year old taxi driver was brutally murdered and the body dumped at a bridge in Kitale town.
Trans Nzoia county police Commander Ayu Ali told KNA that the man was found dead at a bridge near KALRO in Kitale town by members of the public on Tuesday.
“We have identified the deceased who worked for Rajan Taxi Limited in Kitale town. He was driving the motor vehicle make Toyota Allion registration number KBW 680 P,” Ali said.
Ayu said the deceased’s vehicle was abandoned in Bungoma County between Bukembe and Mabanga trading centres.
The body which was partially covered by water had blood oozing from the nose, forehead and chest while hands and legs were tied up from behind.
Police suspect that the tax driver was murdered elsewhere and his body dumped at the scene.
The deceased was wearing black jeans, checked cream T- shirt, blue jumper with no shoes and his eyes had been gorged.
The body is lying at Kitale County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
