Police have arrested two prime suspects recorded on a CCTV footage killing a night guard before breaking into a hardware shop on Sankuri road in Garissa town last week.
Police have been pursuing the suspects since the incident and have recovered a mobile phone the duo allegedly stole from the shop.
The suspects who were unable to break into the safe made away with Sh345 and a mobile phone from the shop.
They reportedly used a steel bar to kill the guard at Rafiki hardware as he conducted his Al-fajir prayers.
Garissa county commissioner Joshua Chepchieng’ told KNA on phone that the two Daniel Makau and Kimwele Musembi were arrested by detectives at Sankuri farm, Garissa sub-county yesterday.
Chepchieng’ said they were tracked using a phone that they stole from the hardware. The two will be arraigned in court tomorrow Monday.
