Suspect held as police officers continue to hunt for magazine

Police officers in Homa bay are still hunting another suspect believed to be in the company of the suspect who attacked an officer assigned to Homa bay police station.

The suspect identified as Stive Omondi Otieno alias Omosh (22) together  with his accomplice who  is still at large allegedly attacked the police officer at Shauri Yako Estate within Homa bay town yesterday at dawn.

Speaking to KNA in her office, the County Police Commander of Homa bay, Esther Seroney, said that the suspects will be taken to court and charged with robbery with violence upon the recovery of a magazine which is still missing.

Seroney stressed that the two intentionally attacked the officer, beat him and left him with multiple injuries, a matter that is not going to be taken lightly.

She further applauded the members of the public for cooperating with security agencies in apprehending the prime suspect who had fled away with the pistol.

“It is good that citizens are changing their attitudes towards their relationship with the police,” Seroney noted.

At the same time the officer called on the government to hasten the program of security officers living with the community to enhance good relationship as a way of curbing insecurity.
