Embu residents have praised the Supreme Court of Kenya (SCOK) for validating and upholding the President-elect Dr. William Ruto’s win.
While congratulating the SCOK judgment on the 2022 presidential petitions, the residents said that the court did the right thing in respecting the will of Kenyans who braved the August cold season to wake up in the morning to vote.
Beth Karemi Kariuki, a representative of the group called on the president-elect to honor his campaign promises that he made to Embu residents.
“Today we are very happy because of the judgment the Supreme Court of Kenya has given, it has respected the will of Kenyans for upholding the president-elect William Ruto’s victory. Today we want to request our president to honor his campaign promises to Embu residents,” she said.
Karemi also called on the president-elect to honor his campaign promises to the single mothers in Embu that he made to them during the UDA Embu Economic Agenda meeting.
The residents called on the presidential petitioners Raila Odinga and his team to accept the court’s verdict and join hands to support the government that the president-elect is going to form for a peaceful coexistence and economic progress.
While congratulating the SCOK for upholding Ruto’s win, Albert Kiprono a youth and chairman for Embu-Kiritiri matatu stage called on the president-elect to keep the promises that he made to Embu youths during his campaigns in the county.
The youth representative lauded the Supreme Court’s move to uphold Ruto’s victory saying it has saved Kenyans the economic hardships that could have been caused by another election.
