The National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has urged residents of the Nyanza region to support the Kenya Kwanza government.
Mbadi explained the importance of his ODM party cooperating with the government, saying it will help spur economic growth.
Speaking during a fundraiser in Kasipul Constituency, Homa Bay County, to help TIMEWO community-based organisation (CBO) that brought together four groups engaged in Jua Kali businesses in Oyugis town, the CS said they joined the government of the day in order to unite all Kenyans and serve them equally.
The group has about 240 members, with Kasipul MP Charles Ongondo as the patron.
Mbadi said the economy is already beginning to rebound, citing systematic payment of salaries among state officers and civil servants.
However, the CS acknowledged that currently Kenyans are crying over lack of money in their pockets but was quick to add that the government is working on strategies to put cash in the pockets of the citizens.
Some of the strategies Mbadi mentioned include increasing the tax base and reviving the economy through reviewing salaries to boost cash flow and circulation that is currently missing, saying all these measures are also focused on reducing inflation.
On pensions, the CS said he is working on a bill to be presented to parliament to deal with monies for retiring employees that will enable each and every one, exiting the civil service to go home, together with their dues instantly, without the long wait as is the case now.
