Students urged to pursue international learning opportunities

Kenyan students were encouraged to fully exploit the education exchange programmes of international colleges to promote cultural diversity and academic excellence to effectively compete in the global market.

Speaking while hosting staff from Mary Mount University in California, Professor Gitau Kamau, co-ordinator and chairman of business at Zetech University said one way to do this was to embrace scholarship opportunities being offered to Kenyan students who wish to pursue further studies in diaspora.

“In today’s globally diverse world, we aim to prepare students for local and international market dynamics by partnering with international universities for continued support.” Said Prof. Kamau. Dr. Dayle Smith’s American delegation provided students with insights on competitive sustainable courses in sociology, health, engineering, and business, as well as collaborative projects for expert development.

The International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition (IBESCC) is an online competition that prioritizes societal, environmental, and financial aspects in business problems.

The exchange programme aims to enhance students’ academic achievements and foster mutual understanding and friendship between Kenya and America, promoting appreciation and respect for each other’s cultures. Kenya’s promising, gifted youth population should be prioritized in efforts to revitalize the global economy.

The delegation was also taken through the programmes offered at the institution in the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence, and carbon emissions solutions. The meeting led to discussions on forming a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to facilitate joint research, student exchange programs, and staff capacity-building initiatives.

“Universities collaborate to enhance faculty expertise through joint training programs, workshops, and seminars, fostering a culture of collaboration and learning for excellence in teaching, research, and service delivery.” Said Prof. Kamau.
