Strippers will not be allowed in Eldoret bars and clubs

Bar and club owners promoting strip dancing in their business premises in Eldoret town and its environs risk losing their  business licenses as it will not be tolerated.

The  Uasin Gishu County Commissioner (CC), Abdi  Hassan said they have received intelligence reports of strip dancing in some  clubs and bars in Eldoret central business district which is against the law.

It  has come to our attention that those perpetuating ‘dancing naked’ shows target April, August and December months to attract students on holiday, said Hassan.

“We are also aware that some security officers are colluding with unscrupulous club and bar owners to allow strip dancing shows and gambling in the premises. We are conducting investigations with relevant government arms and once we get the full details of the wayward officers,’ serious disciplinary action, including dismissal from service will be instituted,” warned the CC.

We are also going to conduct impromptu raids in clubs and bars in the Eldoret CBD to nab those with gambling machines and we shall arrest anyone participating in strip dancing since license has been issued for the same, he added during a press briefing in his office.

The Sub  county security committees have also been asked to be alert and ensure no gambling is done within their jurisdictions.

“Anybody with gambling machines operating in any business premises should be arrested and taken to court. Nobody has licensed gambling business in Uasin Gishu County and we shall not allow our people to be turned into gambling zombies,” the CC stressed.
