Property of unknown value was destroyed in Kaguria Location, South Kabuoch ward in Ndhiwa constituency following heavy rainfall accompanied by windstorm and hailstone last night.
The windstorm completely destroyed Kaguria Location chief’s office, assistant chief’s office and the kitchen belonging to Kaguria Secondary school.
The hailstone also affected farmers in Kaguria and part of Kamenya who are counting losses after their crops such as maize and beans were completely destroyed
According to the Kaguria location Chief Bob Ouma the rains which lasted for about three hours were accompanied by strong winds.
The administrator said that the office equipment and documents were completely destroyed and the office wall was also weakened by the heavy rains.
Ouma further said the rains left the farmers counting huge losses.
He appealed to Ndhiwa constituency NG-CDF office and Homa Bay County department of disaster to intervene and help the victims.
