Stop ‘populist’ statements, Kajiado politicians told

Kajiado County Commissioner David Kipkemei has warned political leaders against making populist statements that tarnish public servants.

Kipkemei said all Government officials represent the public interest and added politicians should not in any way undermine their work.

Speaking in Ngong, Kajiado County, and the CC said comments targeting security officials must be addressed to the right channels and not in public forums and warned that serious action will be taken against any political leader undermining Government officials.

“Every civil servant has been entrusted by the Government of Kenya to discharge duties to the public and nobody can stand in public forum to intimidate them,” said Kipkemei.

CC made the remarks after a Kajiado County Assembly nominated Member Onesmus Ngogoyo criticized security officers in Ngong for arresting students returning home from attending evening classes in Nairobi.

The county administrator warned politicians who incite the public against other leaders that the vice will not be tolerated.
