St. Paul’s Lugari Boys and Bishop Njenga Girls win Chapa Dimba Champions

St. Paul’s Lugari boys, the Chapa Dimba champions for western 2019. They will represent the region in the national championships to be staged at Kinoru stadium in Meru County in June.

St. Pauls’ Lugari Boys’ High School and Bishop Njenga Girls’ are 2019’s western regional Chapa Dimba with Safaricom tournament champions after two-day matches that closed Sunday at Bukhungu stadium.
In the thrilling match, the former thrashed Butere Boys 2-1, while earlier on, the latter had trounced Ibinzo Girls’ 2-0 to clinch the trophy. Bishop Njenga was the defending champions of the tourney that was incepted in 2018.
The principal of St. Pauls’ Lugari boys, Patrick Kigame commended Safaricom for taking the initiative of nurturing talent among the young people.
He exuded confidence that his boys would perform well in the national championships that will be staged at Kinoru stadium in Meru County in June.
The team coach, Teddy Amunala also praised the players for following the instructions, thereby emerging the winners.
The winning team players were given smartphones worth Sh. 10,000 with Sh. 2,000 airtime together with a cash prize of Sh. 200,000 while the runners-up received smartphones worth Sh. 5,000, Sh. 1,000 airtime and a cash prize of Sh. 100,000.
