A former teacher at Muungano Primary School in Bamba Location, Ganze Sub County on Tuesday appeared in a Kilifi Court charged with sexually assaulting six pupils.
Joseph Muturi who was the games master was accused of sexually assaulting the six girls aged between 12 and 17 years who were part of a team that was to attend County sports competition at Kijiwetanga primary school in Malindi Sub County on April 23, 2019.
Muturi had allegedly ordered all the participants attending the event to spend the night at Muungano primary school ahead of the morning journey when he called one by one, touched their thighs and fingered their private parts.
The prosecution told the court that some girls who refused to be abused during the night were left out of the tour forcing parents to demand why they had to spend the night at the school.
They raised the matter with the school management and the accused who is being represented by lawyer, Robert Nyachiro was arrested and charged.
Muturi however, denied the charges before the Kilifi Senior Principal Magistrate, Justus Kituku and was released on a bond of sh.500, 000 with one surety of a similar amount pending the hearing of the case on November 26, 2019.
