Seven people died on Saturday in different spots in Ololunga area, Narok South Sub County along the Narok-Bomet Highway.
Six people perished at Olonini bridge near Ololunga trading center in an 8 pm accident involving a Matatu vehicle belonging to Narok Line Sacco and a School Bus belonging to Mesabisabi Secondary School.
It happened that the Matatu vehicle with an unknown number of passengers was being driven from Bomet to Narok direction, when it collided head-on with the school bus that was heading in the opposite direction.
According to a report from the police, the school bus driver was trying to over-take a fleet of vehicles in rainy weather, when it collided with the Matatu vehicle.
Due to the impact, three people who were traveling in the Matatu died on the spot, while three others died while receiving treatment at Ololunga Sub County Hospital. A number of the injured people are recuperating at the same facility.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Narok County Referral Hospital Morgue.
In another accident that occurred on Saturday morning, a young woman who recently graduated from Maasai Mara University lost her life after the vehicle she was traveling in rammed into an oncoming Easy Coach bus near Ololunga trading center.
The deceased was among three others who were traveling in the same vehicle, who sustained minor injuries and are being treated at Narok County Referral Hospital.
According to a police report, the female passenger died on the spot, while three others including the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The deceased was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital Morgue, while both vehicles were towed to Ololunga Police station awaiting inspection.
Narok County Traffic Enforcement Officer Felix Muli has asked motorists to be vigilant, while driving along the smooth highway during this Christmas festive season.
