Police in Uasin Gishu County on Monday paraded seven suspected carjackers alleged to be the masterminds behind a car theft syndicate in the area.
The suspects are said to have been terrorizing citizens in Nakuru, Kericho, Bomet, Mosoriot and Elgeyo Marakwet for the past one year.
Confirming the incident, the Uasin Gishu County Police Commander (CPC), Johnston Ipara identified the suspects as; Isaac Sirma, Kiprotich Geoffrey, Hillary Kiplang’at, Alfred Kimutai, Tony Lang’at, Elkanah Kipchumba, and Peter Kibet.
The police boss said the suspects are reported to have stolen eight cars in the past one week thus were arrested in Kericho and Bomet, adding that two of the stolen vehicles were recovered from one of the suspect’s home in Litein.
