Security Tightened in Western ahead of Festivities

The Western Regional Commissioner (RC) Ann Ng’etich has said everything has been put in place to ensure security prevails in the region during this festive season.

She stated that all security officers who were on leave have been recalled to ensure the safety of residents and their property.

The RC, who was addressing journalists in her board room Thursday observed that the traffic personnel will make sure that the Highway Code is adhered to in order to avoid road carnage and appealed to all  road users to uphold the law.

The administrator added that multi-agency command centres manned by police officers on 24-hour basis have been set up in regional, county and sub county headquarters.

Ms. Ng’etich urged the public to collaborate with security agents by passing vital information on suspected criminals to them.

“The members of the public can report criminal activities using toll free helplines 056-2031219 and 0203556771 for quick response,” she said.

She said the region has been comparatively peaceful and urged the residents to sustain the spirit.
