The Government has stepped up security across Embu County ahead of Christmas and New Year festivities to ensure residents and visitors have hitch-free celebrations.
County Commissioner Jack Obuo said they had deployed adequate security officers to ensure the security of both life and property.
Speaking while issuing the operation order from his office, Mr. Obuo said all police stations, posts, and administration offices will be fully operational and manned throughout to ensure any cases reported are dealt with promptly.
He said they will ensure there will be effective and visible security patrols across the county to ensure people go on their business undisturbed while calling on residents to also remain law-abiding.
The CC said that they had heightened patrols on major highways including Nairobi-Meru and Embu-Kiritiri Highways in a bid to ensure motorists abide by traffic regulations to curb accidents.
In the absence of roadblocks, he said they will mount strategic patrols in collaboration with NTSA to ensure motorists abide by the laid down rules.
He added that they had romped in boda boda operators who will be their ambassadors on the roads in reporting cases of breach of traffic and also called on them to ensure they also maintain the laws.
Mr. Obuo also asked bar and entertainment joint operators to adhere to hours of operation and also ensure they do not sell alcohol to minors.
“We will carry out regular patrols to ensure there is strict adherence to alcoholic laws especially with regards to hours of operation,” he said.
He further said they will also deploy armed security officers within major places of worship to ensure there is no security breach.
